Facebook review
Facebook is a popular social network designed to let people find each other, chat, share content, and many more. It was initially launched as a website in 2004 and is now available for free on Android and iOS.
Features: They Got Everything
Facebook has so many features that it is impossible to describe them all in one review. The basic ones are focused on communication: the news feed shows the recent updates of your friends or groups, the profiles represent the information about users, and so on and so forth. You can post stories on Facebook, share photos, videos, and other content, chat with friends, like, repost, and comment on any content there is.
There are also tons of additional features on Facebook. They are Marketplace, Watch, Places, Notes, Platform, Questions, and many more. With its popularity, Facebook can expand in any direction, and they are constantly introducing various new features.
Design, interface & usability: Overloaded
The user interface is probably the weakest part of the Facebook app. As we have mentioned above, there are tons of features, and it is almost impossible to fit them into one single app that would be comfortable to use. They have even made the chat a separate app to make the main one more comfortable, but that did not help much. The structure is not very intuitive, the new updates constantly change the design and the menus and finding a specific feature for the first time might be a real challenge.
Security: Lots of Breaches and Privacy Concerns
As one of the most popular social networks, Facebook is always in the spotlight and always attracts attention, which might be sometimes unwanted. As most other networks do, Facebook collects lots of user data to improve their advertisement systems and the security of storing this data is really questionable. The privacy concerns exist and get more and more significant with the company wanting to access more and more data with each update. And the data breaches are also a major security problem of Facebook: several significant cases of hackers dispose of the information of dozens of millions of users.
Conclusion: Fine 3/5
Facebook has several major drawbacks we have mentioned above, but it is still one of the most popular and most loved social networks in the U.S. It has many features for communication and sharing content, and it is developing in many other segments. Facebook has 2.6 billion monthly active users, and if you are still not a part of that number, we recommend at least checking out the app. It is completely free and available on all platforms, including Android and iOS.
