Valorant is Out Now on Xbox Series X/S and PS5
2024-08-05
With its open beta successfully starting last week, Valorant from Riot Games is now officially accessible on Xbox Series X/S and PC. A stunning cinematic trailer illustrates the clash between two teams of Agents participating in Spike Rush.
Originally released for PC in June 2020, Valorant combines tactical first-person shooting reminiscent of Counter-Strike: GO with characters featuring unique abilities similar to those found in Overwatch. Players begin each round in Spike Rush by choosing an Agent and purchasing weapons and equipment. One team aims to plant the Spike while the opposing team’s goal is to defuse it, although eliminating the other players is also a valid strategy for victory.
Over the years, the game’s roster has grown substantially, offering players various modes beyond the standard gameplay. Options include Escalation, which resembles the Gun Game from Call of Duty, Team Deathmatch, and Replication, where players vote on their preferred Agent and a random selection occurs.
As of October 2023, Valorant has gained a significant following, boasting 28 million monthly active players.
